Description

The Vaishnava temple Govind Dev Ji is situated in Jaipur district in Rajasthan state of India. It is located in the City Palace complex. The idol is easily visible from City Palace. The temple is dedicated to Govind Dev Ji (Lord Krishna). This temple is among the 7 temples of Thakur of Vrindavan including Sri Radhavallabh ji, Shri Bankey Bihari Ji, Shri Govind Dev Ji and four others. The image of the deity was brought from Vrindavan here by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. According to popular legend, Lord Krishna's image in the temple looks exactly like Krishna's form during his incarnation on Earth

वैष्णव मंदिर गोविंद देव जी भारत के राजस्थान राज्य में जयपुर जिले में स्थित है। यह सिटी पैलेस परिसर में स्थित है। सिटी पैलेस से मूर्ति आसानी से दिखाई देती है। मंदिर गोविंद देव जी (भगवान कृष्ण) को समर्पित है। यह मंदिर वृंदावन के ठाकुर के 7 मंदिरों में से एक है, जिसमें श्री राधावल्लभ जी, श्री बांके बिहारी जी, श्री गोविंद देव जी और चार अन्य मंदिर शामिल हैं। जयपुर के संस्थापक राजा सवाई जय सिंह द्वितीय द्वारा यहां मूर्ति को वृंदावन से लाया गया था। प्रचलित किंवदंती के अनुसार, मंदिर में उपस्थित भगवान कृष्ण की छवि पृथ्वी पर उनके अवतार की तरह दिखती है।

Temple Story

According to the legend, the Image of Lord Govind Devji was also called "Bajrakrit"- indicating thereby that it was created by Vajranabh, the Great Grand Son of Lord Krishna. Some 5,000 years back when Shri Vajranabh was around 13 years old, he asked his Grand Mother (daughter-in-law of Lord Krishna) as to how Lord Shri Krishna looked like; Then he made an image as per the description given by her. She however, said that not all but the feet of that image looked like those of Lord Shri Krishna. He made another image, yet she said that only chest looked like that of Lord Shri Krishna. Thereafter, he made the third Image and looking at the same, she veiled her face as a show of modesty, and remarked that the face of the deity was exactly like that of Lord Shri Krishna.

किंवदंती के अनुसार भगवान गोविंद देवजी की छवि को "बजरिकृत" भी कहा जाता था जिससे यह संकेत मिलता है कि यह मूर्ति वज्रनाभ, भगवान कृष्ण के परपौत्र द्वारा बनायीं गयी थी। कुछ ५००० साल पहले जब वज्रनाभ की उम्र १३ साल के आसपास थी, उन्होंने अपनी दादी माँ (भगवान कृष्ण की बहू) से पूछा कि भगवान श्री कृष्ण कैसे दिखते हैं; तब उन्होंने उनके द्वारा दिए गए वर्णन के अनुसार एक चित्र बनाया। हालांकि, उन्होंने कहा कि सब कुछ नहीं बल्कि उस छवि के पैर भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के समान दिख रहे थे। वज्रनाभ ने एक और छवि बनाई, फिर भी उन्होंने कहा कि छाती भगवान श्री कृष्ण की तरह दिख रही है। इसके बाद, उन्होंने तीसरी छवि बनाई और उसी को देखते हुए उन्होंने विनय में अपना चेहरा ढका, और टिप्पणी की कि मूर्ति का चेहरा बिल्कुल भगवान श्रीकृष्ण की तरह था।
