Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Asthan is a temple panorama complex and an important historical monument of Valmikis located at Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath road of Amritsar city. Since 1 December 2016, it has an 8 foot tall 800 kg gold plated idol of Lord Valmiki in the main section. Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Asthan, dedicated to Maharishi Valmiki ji is situated 11 km west of Amritsar. It also has a sacred pond, circumambulation with a bridge, a devotee hall with capacity of 5000, a Sanskrit library, a museum and a multi-storey modern car parking with a capacity of 500 four-wheeler vehicles.

भगवान वाल्मीकि तीरथ अमृतसर शहर के भगवान वाल्मीकि तीरथ मार्ग पर स्थित वाल्मीकियों का एक महत्वपूर्ण ऐतिहासिक स्मारक है। 1 दिसंबर 2016 के बाद, इस मंदिर के मुख्य भाग में भगवान वाल्मीकि की 8 फुट ऊँची 800 किलो सोने की मूर्ति स्थापित की गयी। मंदिर परिसर में एक पवित्र तालाब, पुल के साथ परिक्रमा करने के लिए मार्ग, 5000 की क्षमता वाला एक भक्त हॉल, एक संस्कृत पुस्तकालय, एक संग्रहालय और 500 मंजिला वाहनों की क्षमता वाला एक बहुमंजिला आधुनिक कार पार्किंग भी है।

Temple Story

As per the mythological beliefs, the temple dates back to the period of Ramayana and the place is famous for the ashram of sage Maharishi Valmiki. It is the place where the sage gave shelter to Sita, wife of Rama when she was abandoned after the Lanka Victory. The place is the birthplace of Lava and Kusha, sons of Ramachandra, in the ashrama of Saint Valmiki. The great epic Ramayana is also said to have been written here by Maharishi Valmiki. It is also believed that the fight between Lord Ram Chandra's forces and Lav and Kush had also taken place at Ram Tirth. Foundation stone of Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Asthan was laid on 18 October 2016 and this project was designed by the Department of Architecture of Guru Nanak Dev University. It was inaugurated on 1 December 2016 by the Chief Minister of Punjab.The historic site was renovated with ₹200 crore and has entrance portals at both ends.

पौराणिक मान्यताओं के अनुसार, मंदिर रामायण के काल से जुड़ा है और यह स्थान ऋषि वाल्मीकि का आश्रम हुआ करता था। यह वह स्थान है जहां ऋषि ने भगवान राम की पत्नी मां सीता को शरण दी थी, जब उन्हें लंका विजय के बाद त्याग दिया गया था। यह स्थान भगवान रामचंद्र के पुत्र लव और कुश का जन्मस्थान भी है। कहा जाता है कि महान महाकाव्य रामायण को महर्षि वाल्मीकि ने यहां लिखा था। यह भी माना जाता है कि राम तीर्थ पर भगवान राम चंद्र की सेनाओं और लव और कुश के बीच युद्ध हुआ था। भगवान वाल्मीकि तीरथ का फाउंडेशन पत्थर 18 अक्टूबर 2016 को रखा गया था और इस परियोजना को गुरु नानक देव विश्वविद्यालय के वास्तुकला विभाग द्वारा डिजाइन किया गया था। इसका उद्घाटन 1 दिसंबर 2016 को पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा किया गया था। ऐतिहासिक स्थल का ₹ 200 करोड़ के साथ नवीनीकरण किया गया था ।
