Description

Madho Rai Temple, located in Haripur, Himachal Pradesh is one of the oldest temples present in that valley. The temple is famous for worship of the renowned deity, Lord Vishnu. The temple is associated with Raja Jagat Singh who took with him the idol of Lord Krishna (Thakur Ji) from Ayodhya. The temple is a Himalayan architectural marvel which is beautifully carved out from wood and stone.

हिमाचल प्रदेश के हरिपुर में स्थित माधो राय मंदिर, घाटी में मौजूद सबसे पुराने मंदिरों में से एक है। मंदिर भगवान विष्णु की पूजा के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। मंदिर राजा जगत सिंह के साथ जुड़ा हुआ है जो अपने साथ अयोध्या से भगवान कृष्ण (ठाकुर जी) की मूर्ति ले कर आये थे। मंदिर हिमालय वास्तुकला का अजूबा है और इस मंदिर को लकड़ी और पत्थर से खूबसूरती से उकेरा गया है।

Temple Story

Every year during Dussehra, a five days festival is celebrated near the temple in the memory of Lord Krishna. The festival is celebrated with great pomp and show with melas and food bazaars opening on the ground. Bhanthra dance style is the famous attraction of this festival. Another festival associated with the deity and the temple is the Mandi Shivaratri Fair. It is an annual renowned international fair that is held for 7 days starting with the Hindu festival of Shivaratri. The Shivratri fair of Mandi offers a perspective of the deity culture of Himachal Pradesh. Over 200 deities congregate in Mandi town every year to take part in the weeklong fair, and stay there in temporary camps along with their followers.The festival centres on “Madho Rai” (Lord Vishnu), protector deity of Mandi, and Lord Shiva of the Bhootnath temple. The main attraction of the event is the ‘Jaleb’ (procession of deities) led by Madho Rai. Most of the deities along with their followers join it. If you get a chance to visit the place during the time of any of these festivals, you would definitely have a great time there.

हर साल दशहरे के दौरान, भगवान कृष्ण की याद में मंदिर के पास पांच दिनों का त्योहार मनाया जाता है। त्योहार को धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है और मेलों में सैकड़ों लोग इकट्ठे होते है। भंथरा नृत्य शैली इस त्योहार का प्रसिद्ध आकर्षण है। देवता और मंदिर से जुड़ा एक और प्रसिद्ध त्योहार मंडी का शिवरात्रि मेला है। यह एक वार्षिक प्रसिद्ध अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मेला है जो शिवरात्रि के हिंदू त्योहार के साथ शुरू होता है और यह मेला 7 दिनों के लिए आयोजित किया जाता है। मंडी का शिवरात्रि मेला हिमाचल प्रदेश की देव संस्कृति का का अद्भुत दृश्य प्रश्तुत करता है। सप्ताह भर चलने वाले मेले में हिस्सा लेने के लिए हर साल मंडी शहर में 200 से अधिक देवता एकत्रित होते हैं, और अपने अनुयायियों के साथ अस्थायी शिविरों में रहते हैं। यह त्यौहार माधो राय (भगवान विष्णु), मंडी के रक्षक देवता और मंडी में स्थित भूतनाथ मंदिर के भगवान शिव की भक्ति के लिए मनाया जाता है। त्यौहार का मुख्य आकर्षण माधो राय के नेतृत्व में जलेब (देवताओं का जुलूस) होता है। हिमाचल के अधिकांश देवता अपने अनुयायियों के साथ इस मेले में पधारते हैं। यदि आपको इनमें से किसी भी त्योहार के दौरान कुल्लू और मंडी में जाने का मौका मिलता है, तो आप निश्चित रूप से यहाँ एक अच्छा समय बिताएंगे।
