Devotees of Lord Shiva observe the Pradosh vrat on the Trayodashi Tithi (thirteenth day) of both Pakshas - Shukla Paksha (Waxing Moon Fortnight) and Krishna Paksha (Waning Moon Fortnight) every month. On Pradosh Vrat, Rudrabhishek Puja is conducted in Devotees’ name by Pandit ji during Brahma Muhurta. This is followed by Devotees’ Sankalp to observe the fast with devotion.

It is believed that by participating in Rudrabhishek Puja & Kaal Sarpa Dosh Puja on Pradosh Vrat alleviates suffering and blesses one with good health, wealth and good fortune. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva liberated Chandra Dev (Moon) from a King’s curse on Pradosh Vrat. Therefore, it is also believed that those who observe Pradosh Vrat and participate in Lord Shiva’s Puja on this auspicious day get freedom from all their past and present sins.

The term Shivaratri means the 'Great Night of Lord Shiva' and falls on the 13th night and 14th day of the New Moon. Throughout history, there are various legends that describe the significance of Lord Shiva. According to one of them, it is on this night that Lord Shiva performed his cosmic dance of ‘creation, preservation and destruction’, i.e. "The Tandav Dance". Yet another legend says that Shivratri was the night of the great union of Shiva and Shakti i.e. the convergence of the masculine and feminine energies of the world. It is believed that making offerings to the Shivalinga on this day helps people to get rid of their past sins and attain salvation or moksha.

The Kaal Sarp Yog is a scary phenomenon that can cause utter misery in one's life. A person under the affliction of this Dosha leads a life of pain and misfortune. This yoga has the capacity to cancel out all the good Yoga’s of the chart. A person having the Kaal Sarp Yog in his/her Kundali often dreams about snakes. They visualize themselves getting bitten by such reptiles and get a feeling of someone’s trying to strangulate them. They also repeatedly see their deceased relatives in their dreams. A possible solution to get rid of this problem is to participate in Kaal Sarp Dosh Nivaran Puja.

Legend says that Lord Shiva devoured the poison that came out of the ocean during the Samudra Mantha' in order to save the world. Therefore, Lord Shiva’s Devotees worship him and perform Rudrabhisek Puja to thank Lord Shiva for always protecting his followers from all kinds of dangers and diseases. It is believed that Lord Shiva held the venom in his throat, turning it blue, and thus, he is also referred as Neelkantha. Devotees participate in Rudrabhishek Puja with the desire of having a child, seeking a happy married life, good life partner, good career and a healthy & wealthy life.

In Hinduism, there has been a tradition since ancient times to offer Prasad in a Temple or in front of an idol of Deity. Lord Shiva likes Bhang and Panchamrit in the form of Bhog. After bathing the Shivalinga with milk, curd, honey, sugar, ghee and water, hemp, sandalwood, flowers, roli and clothes are offered to Lord Shiva. It is also mentioned in Shiva Purana that Lord Shiva likes Bel Patra. It is believed that millions of virtues are attained by offering Bhog to Lord Shiva.

Generally, making any offering to the Shivalinga has its own importance but offering 'Vastra' or clothes to Lord Shiva has special significance. It is believed that Lord Shiva loves green and white colours. Offering white or green colored clothes and Janeu to Lord Shiva brings success in life and one receives Lord Shiva's blessings.

Brahman Bhojan is a ritual performed for the departed souls of ancestors. Brahman bhoj is done to satisfy the desires of the souls of our ancestors and let them rest in peace. Brahman Bhoj rituals help cleanse all the sins of our forefathers and help their souls to attain moksha. Also, the one who performs this ritual is said to earn good karma and is liberated from bad Karmas of past and present life.

On the auspicious occasion of Pradosh Vrat & Shivratri, offering Bhojan and Dakshina to Brahman is believed to absolve individuals from all sins. It is also believed that unless a Brahman prays to God through the chanting of Mantras, God cannot come and attend the puja rituals. Therefore, Brahman Bhoj is considered essential for the Puja in Hindu Dharma.
