Description

Tirupati is a famous town in the Chittoor district of the Southern portion of Andhra Pradesh and is at a convenient train journey away from Chennai (formerly Madras) in Tamil Nadu. Tirumalai, one of of the seven hills, is home to this temple and is connected by a well maintained and picturesque mountain road constructed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.Tirupati serves as a pilgrimage center of great significance and is visited by hundreds of thousands of pilgrims throughout the year. Venkateswara, or Srinivasa or Balaji as the presiding deity of Vishnu is known, is enshrined in this temple, which is located on a range of the Eastern Ghats. This temple is known to be one of the richest temple in India as it has a vibrant cultural and philanthropic institution with a grand history spanning several centuries.

तिरुपति आंध्र प्रदेश के दक्षिणी भाग के चित्तूर जिले में एक प्रसिद्ध शहर है और तमिलनाडु में चेन्नई से सुविधाजनक ट्रेन यात्रा पर स्थित है। यह मंदिर तिरुमलाई, सात पहाड़ियों में से एक, पर स्थित है। तिरूपति एक महान तीर्थस्थल है और यहाँ पर पूरे वर्ष सैकड़ों तीर्थ यात्रियों द्वारा दर्शन किया जाता है। वेंकटेश्वर, या श्रीनिवास या बालाजी, भगवान विष्णु के अवतार हैं, जो इस मंदिर में विराजित हैं। इस मंदिर को भारत के सबसे धनी मंदिरों में से एक माना जाता है अथवा इस मंदिर का कई शताब्दियों तक भव्य इतिहास रहा है।

Temple Story

It is said that Lord Vishnu manifested himself in this temple in order to guide the people of Kali Yuga(age) towards emancipation. Therefore this temple is also called as Bhuloka Vaikuntam (the abode of Vishnu on the earth) and Lord Balaji is called as Kaliyuga Pratyaksha Daivam (the manifested Lord of the Kali age). The highly sacred and antique nature of the Tirupati Balaji temple is evident through a large number of mentions in several puranas including the Varaha Purana and the Bavishyottara Purana. All the major dynasties that ruled over the Southern peninsula had taken immense interest in paying homage to Lord Balaji as well as making huge contributions and endowments to the temple.

ऐसा कहा जाता है कि भगवान विष्णु ने कलियुग के लोगों का मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए खुद को इस मंदिर में प्रकट किया था। इसलिए इस मंदिर को भुलोका वैकुंठम (पृथ्वी पर भगवान विष्णु का निवास) भी कहा जाता है। तिरुपति बालाजी मंदिर का वर्णन वराह पुराण और भविष्योत्तर पुराण सहित कई पुराणों में है। दक्षिणी प्रायद्वीप पर शासन करने वाले सभी प्रमुख राजवंशों ने भगवान बालाजी को श्रद्धांजलि दी और कई प्रकार के भेँट सौंपे।
