Description

According to mythological beliefs and ancient scholars, this temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shankar. This sacred and legendary city of Pratapgarh is famous for "Baba Ghuisarnath Dham Jyotirlinga".Visiting Shri Ghushmeshwarnath Jyotirlinga destroys all kinds of sins and leads to prosperity. Baba does the welfare of the devotees in every form, in every color, he not only gives the boon to the devotees but also cautions against the possibility of evil.

प्राचीन विद्वानों के अनुसार यह ज्योतिर्लिंग भगवान शंकर के 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में से एक है। प्रतापगढ़ की इस पावन धरा एवं पौराणिक नगरी का नाम “बाबा घुइसरनाथ धाम” है| श्री घुश्मेश्वरनाथ ज्योतिर्लिंग के दर्शन करने से सभी प्रकार के पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं व सुखसमृद्धि की प्राप्ति होती है। बाबा हर रूप में, हर रंग में भक्तों का कल्याण करते है।

Temple Story

In ancient times, Ghurisar Yadav was in a village called Ilaapur (now Kumbhapur) on the banks of the Sai River. He was a shepherd and used to graze animals in the forest every day, he was very atheist and did not believe in God. He used to graze the cows and buffaloes daily while sitting on the mound (Bhita) in the forest, because the Bhita was far away, so he used to graze animals from morning to evening and during that time, he used to take away the rope material from home to make ropes and spend his time. He had to find the stone to tie the rope, and he chose the stone in which he once stuck and fell because that stone was also in the shadow of a very big tree and was brighter and smoother than all other stones. He would hit the stone daily with his stick and in the evening, he used to clean that stone with a clean cloth because the next day he had to sit there again. Whenever, he was hitting on that stone, that stone was coming out upwards. Even today that Divya stone is lying as the 12 th Jyotirlinga Ghushmeshwar ji, many years passed while doing this work, one day it rained a lot in the evening and he was clearing the stone and the surrounding place, then he heard a very loud voice and Divya Roshni (Light) illuminated the surroundings and Lord Shiv appeared from the same stone and said, "Ghurisar Yadav, you have served me for so many years and made me happy. Tell me what boon you want, I will give you the desired boon." Yaduvanshi Ghuisar ji was an atheist, seeing God in front of him, he was filled with devotion and his disbelief kept going. Lord Shiva told him the whole story about that Shivalinga, how he came from his devotion. Lord Rama has also prayed here while going through the forest and rested here. Where Lord Rama had rested while sitting, his drops of sweat has fallen there sprouting the tree of kareer which is still present today. Asked for three brides: - 1. Only my descendants worship you. 2. Seven times more food and water should always be available to you and my descendants. 3- Your holy abode is famous in my name. Even today his descendants Shri Shiva Murthy Giri ji and are constantly engaged in the service of Baba Dham. No one can worship Lord Ghushmeshwar ji in Baba Dham without first worshiping him or his sons and even today, Ghumar Yadav Ji The descendants of are happy and happy. Lord Ghushmeshwar's Dham was named Baba Ghuisarnath Dham in the name of Ghuisar Yadav Ji (This above history is derived from the people residing around Kumbhapur (Ghuisarnath Dham).

प्राचीन काल में साई नदी के किनारे इलापुर(अब कुम्भापुर) नामक गाँव में श्री घुइसर यादव जी रहते थे | वह एक चरवाहे थे और रोज जंगल में जानवर चराने जाते थे, वो बहुत ही नास्तिक थे उनकी ईश्वर में आस्था नहीं थी| वह जंगल में टीले पर ही रोज बैठकर आस पास गाय-भैंस चराया करते थे क्योंकि टीला बहुत दूर में था अत: सुबह से शाम तक जानवरों को चराते चराते वो अपना समय काटने के लिये घर से मूंज ले जाया करते थे जिससे वो रस्सियाँ बनाते थे | उसे खूंदने के लिए उन्हें पत्थर ढूढना था अतःउन्होंने वह पत्थर चुना जिसमे वो एक बार अटक कर गिर गए थे क्यों की वह बहुत बड़े वृक्ष के नीचे छावं में भी था और सभी पत्थरों से ज्यादा चमकीला और चिकना था,अब प्रतिदिन घुइसर जी मूंज खूंदते और रस्सी बनाया करते थे| दिव्य पत्थर पर रोज अपनी लाठी से चोट करते और शाम को पत्थर के आस पास साफ़ कर देते और पत्थर को भी अपने अगोंछे से साफ़ कर देते थे क्योंकि अगले दिन उन्हें फिर वहीं बैठना होता था |लेकिन जैसे जैसे वह उस पत्थर पर चोट मार रहे थे , उसी तरह वो पत्थर बाहर उपर की तरफ निकल रहा था | आज भी उस दिव्या पत्थर रुपी १२वे ज्योतिर्लिंग घुश्मेश्वर जी में चोट के निशान मौजूद हैं| यह कार्य करते करते कई वर्ष बीत गए , एक दिन शाम के समय बहुत बारिश हुई और वह पत्थर को व आस पास की जगह साफ़ कर रहे थे तभी बहुत भयानक आवाज के साथ दिव्या रोशनी हुई और भगवान शंकर उसी पत्थर से प्रकट होकर बोले घुइसर यादव तुमने मेरी इतने दिन सेवा करके मुझे खुश् कर दिया बोलो क्या वरदान चाहते हो मैं तुम्हे मनचाहा वरदान दूंगा | यदुवंशी घुइसर जी नास्तिक थे भगवान को साक्षात् अपने सामने देख वो शिवभक्ति से ओत प्रोत गये उनकी नास्तिकता जाती रही |भगवान शिव जी ने उस शिवलिंग के बारे में उन्हें सारी कहानी बताई की कैसे घुश्मा की भक्ति से वह आये थे और आज फिर दोबारा तुम्हारी निष्काम सेवा से प्रसन्न होकर पुन: जनकल्याण के लिए अवतरित हुए हैं क्योंकि मुझे त्रेता युग में अपने भगवान राम के दर्शन के लिए यंहा फिर से उद्भव लेना ही था |भगवान राम जी ने वन जाते वक्त घुश्मेश्वर जी से मुलाकात की थी और यंहा विश्राम भी किया था | जंहा उन्होंने बैठ कर विश्राम किया था उनके पसीने की बूँद वंहा गिरी जिससे वंहा करीर का वृक्ष उत्पन्न हुआ जो आज भी विराजमान है |अत: इस तरह शिव जी ने यदुवंशी घुइसर जी को दर्शन दिया और उनकी नास्तिकता का नाश किया| घुइसर जी ने तीन वर मांगे :- १- मेरे वंशज ही आपकी प्रथम पूजा करें | २- सात गुना अन्न-जल आपकी सेवा से मुझे और मेरे वंश को हमेशा मिले | ३- मेरे नाम से आपका यह पावन धाम प्रसिद्द हो | आज भी उनके वंशज बाबा धाम की सेवा में निरंतर लगे हुए हैं |बिना उनके या उनके पुत्रों के प्रथम पूजन के बगैर कोई बाबा धाम में भगवान घुश्मेश्वर जी की पूजा नहीं कर सकता है और आज भी घुइसर यादव जी के वंशज खुश और सुखी हैं | घुइसर यादव जी के नाम से ही भगवान घुश्मेश्वर जी के धाम का नाम बाबा घुइसरनाथ धाम पड़ा |
