Description

Mahavir Mandir is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman, located in Patna, Bihar, India. Millions of pilgrims visit the temple every year and is the second most visited religious shrine in North India.

महावीर मंदिर भगवान हनुमान को समर्पित सबसे पवित्र हिंदू मंदिरों में से एक है। लाखों श्रद्धालु इस मंदिर में दर्शन करने आते है और उत्तर भारत में सबसे अधिक दर्शन किए जाने वाले धार्मिक मंदिरों में से एक।

Temple Story

Legend says that, this temple was originally established by Swami Balanand, an ascetic of Rama nandi sect in around 1730 A.D. This temple gained popularity in 1947 with a large number of Hindu refugees coming to Patna after the partition of India. Subsequently, the temple was rebuilt as a concrete house at the same time. Even this was renovated in 1987 to make a huge marble temple. The idol of Sankat-Mochan stands tall in the temple. The architecture of the temple is ethereal and unique which attracts a lot of devotees and tourists.The temple took a huge step which created history i.e. on 13 June 1993, Suryavanshi Das, a person from dalit community, became priest of the temple. This decision taken by Acharya Kishore Kunal received support from three well known priests—Ramchandra Paramahans, Mahant Avaidyanath of Baba Gorakhnath Dham and Mahant Avadh Kishore Das.

किंवदंती के अनुसार, इस मंदिर की स्थापना मूल रूप में राम नंदी संप्रदाय के तपस्वी स्वामी बालानंद ने लगभग 1730 ए.डी. में की थी। इस मंदिर ने 1947 में लोकप्रियता हासिल की क्युकी भारत के विभाजन के बाद पटना में बड़ी संख्या में हिंदू शरणार्थी आये । इसके बाद, मंदिर को उसी समय एक ठोस घर के रूप में बनाया गया था। इस मंदिर को विशाल संगमरमर का मंदिर बनाने के लिए 1987 में पुनर्निर्मित किया गया था। संकट मोचन हनुमान जी की मूर्ति मंदिर में स्थापित है। 13 जून 1993 को मंदिर ने एक बहुत बड़ा कदम उठाया जिसने इतिहास रच दिया : सूर्यवंशी दास, जो दलित समुदाय के व्यक्ति थे, मंदिर के पुजारी बन गए।
