Description

Located on the Mohan Road, Buddheshwar Mahadev Temple is one of the oldest Hindu shrines in Lucknow. Established by Raja Bakshi, the temple is sacred to Lord Shiva. The temple remains flocked with oodles of devotees throughout the year. However, on the auspicious day of Mahashivratri, the crowd of the devotees gets doubled up. On this day, pilgrims from and wide come to this pilgrimage site in Lucknow commemorate Lord Shiva in a unique way.Maha-Shivratri is commemorated among the devotees with a great zeal and enthusiasm every year. Milk flowers, bel-patri and fruits are offered as a ritual to worship Lord Shiva on the day of Mahashivratri. Devotees visit this temple especially on some auspicious occasions to seek fulfilment of the following- Salvation; Wealth; Relief from diseases.

मोहन रोड पर स्थित बुधेश्वर महादेव मंदिर लखनऊ के सबसे पुराने हिंदू मंदिरों में से एक है। राजा बख्शी द्वारा स्थापित बुधेश्वर महादेव मंदिर भगवान शिव को समर्पित मंदिर है। महाशिवरात्रि के शुभ अवसर पर भक्त बड़ी संख्या में इस मंदिर में दर्शन के लिए आते है। महाशिवरात्रि के दिन भगवान शिव की पूजा करने के लिए दूध , फूल, बेलपत्र और फल चढ़ाए जाते हैं।

Temple Story

The name Budheshwar Mahadev Temple boasts an interesting legend. It is said that Lord Rama along with his consort, Sita, and brother, Lakshman, worshipped Lord Shiva at this place while going for their exile period. The day on which they pay homage to the Lord was Wednesday, and hence, the temple today is known as Buddheswar Mahadev Temple. The temple opens from early morning to late evening and closes only around 12:30 hrs for about an hour or so . Wednesday is usually crowded for obvious reasons. This popular tourist attraction is one of the most peaceful places to visit in the city of Nawabs.

बुद्धेश्वर महादेव मंदिर के साथ एक दिलचस्प किंवदंती जुड़ी हुई है। किंवदंती के अनुसार भगवान राम ने अपनी पत्नी सीता, और भाई, लक्ष्मण के साथ, अपने निर्वासन काल के जाने से पहले इस स्थान पर भगवान शिव की पूजा की थी।जिस दिन भगवान राम ने भगवान शिव की पूजा की थी वह बुधवार का दिन था, और इसलिए, आज मंदिर को बुद्धेश्वर महादेव मंदिर के नाम से जाना जाता है। बुधवार को आमतौर पर स्पष्ट कारणों से भीड़ होती है। यह लोकप्रिय पर्यटक आकर्षण नवाबों के शहर में घूमने के लिए सबसे शांतिपूर्ण स्थानों में से एक है।
